Porcelain vs. Ceramic—Aren’t They Both the Same?

We tend to use the words ‘porcelain’ and ‘ceramic’ interchangeably, but there are many differences between the two when it comes to porosity, composition, etc. The only similarity we can point out is that they’re both made of clay in a kiln. Here are some key differences between the two to help you choose the right one.   What are they made of? Porcelain happens to be a type of ceramic which is made by fusing together different kinds of clays. Ceramics are materials that are crystalline, inorganic, and shapeless. How are they made? Porcelain goes through a complete vitrification  proc
